Well, if you paste some URL into a browser main window, 
will you expect the browser to go into that URL? I'd 
rather say it won't. It will do that only if you paste the 
URL where it should be pasted to - into the address 
textbox. It is common and reasonable behaviour for any 
interface toolkit, where several different widgets exist 
on the screen in the same time. You should direct an input 
to widget where it belongs to. The same is true for 
lyntin.

As for xterm, its behaves this way because it has the only 
widget - it's main window.

If there is some workaround for Tk though, you welcome to 
send a patch.
