Re: read_cmd

I've been using Python 2.3 on all my machines for some time.

On a side note, I checked the documentation for Python 2.2 and 2.1 
(assuming the documentation is correct) the changes I made to the read_cmd 
should work with Python 2.2 but won't work in Python 2.1.
