I haven't been updating my blue sky stuff (I stopped mudding) but there is a decent telnet implementation in there. sock.py[1] handles MCCP, NAWS, TTYPE, EOR, and ECHO. Based around a look-alike[2] for python's crappy telnetlib implementation. It would take some work to shoehorn it into lyntin, but if anyone decides to try that let me know, I have a newer version of same in my local CVS.
