Thanks.  That worked, and today I got a chance to work on a more
permanent solution.  I'll post the patch files if anyone's interested.

What I did was add a new config option, "alwaysecho" in engine.py,
then changed textui.py and tkui.py to honor it.  I just tried Lyntin
with Medievia.com, and it worked exactly as I'd hoped.

I'm not sure if this is an appropriate change, being only a more
convenient solution than the direct one, and one that leaves passwords
visible, so I'll wait for feedback on the idea before submitting the
files.

Plus, I did read the website right, and patch files are supposed to be
sent here, right?  If so, do you want them inlined in the message or
attached?
