I just re-added the old wiki content to the SF wiki. One of the items
was Lyntin 5.0 thoughts and it covers something along these lines.
Definitely worth checking out:

One of the ideas is to all the Tintin functionality and switch to a
Python shell with the various "commands" being converted to Python
functions.

It's possible that Leantin is already like this--if I looked at
Leantin, it was a long time ago and I don't remember anything from it.

I think this is really different from what Lyntin currently is. While
you could shoe-horn Lyntin into this new mission, I think it's
probably better to fork the project and start off with new design
decisions. Then you figure out what the new thing entails and take
what you need from Lyntin and leave the rest as is.

I think this is beyond the scope of what I can do for 4.2, though. I
could add some more things to the locals so that it's easier to access
things from #@ and that might be interesting to do. Sebastian
mentioned wanting multi-line support in Lyntin a long long time ago--I
can look into providing that for 4.2. You'd need something like that
for Python things to be useful, I would think.
