How to beat this %@#&\{ bad guys (in outpost home system) ?

Hi,

I have been playing (nearly non-stop) this fantastic game for 3 
weeks now and I reached the rank of Gunfighter.
I keep playing a 102 difficulty game (Ring shape, smallest and 
densiest universe, 8 bad guys based on IQ, advanced home system) 
because it's the max I can win.
It's still a very difficult and challenging game and my winning 
ratio is 1 every 3 or 4 games.
I wonder how you can beat the computer with a outpost home system 
(the bad guys are so way ahead of you in everything that you can 
never catch up with them).
If anybody have good tips or strategy for me, they are welcome...
