That is exactly correct. Your ships were destroyed immediately, and were
destroy so fast that you did not receive any information about the opposing
force.

If you sent just a scout ship, it means there is a good force there. If you
sent a whole set of battle ships -- it means you are outclassed in terms of
tech and number.
