New GCC mirror in Algiers, Algeria - mirror.hostarts.dz

We would like to offer a new GCC mirror, located in Algiers, Algeria.

The mirror carries the complete ftp area (releases, snapshots, infrastructure, old-releases, libstdc++, summit), synchronised twice daily from rsync://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-ftp with deletions propagated, so snapshots do not accumulate. It is served over HTTP, HTTPS and rsync with no authentication and no rate limit.

The machine is a dedicated mirror host on a 16 TB array with a bonded 2x10G uplink, and it already carries public mirrors for AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux and OPNsense (all three officially listed by their projects), as well as Debian, Ubuntu, EPEL, Alpine, MariaDB, Remi's RPM repository, ELRepo, Proxmox and Docker.

As far as we can tell from https://gcc.gnu.org/mirrors.html, the only mirror on the African continent is mirror.marwan.ma in Morocco. This one would be the second in Africa and the first in Algeria, which should noticeably shorten the path for users in North Africa and MENA region in general.
