How we got BBC and NYT to link without asking

When we started, we made one =
decision that ended up shaping everything. We would only publish content =
that we would actually send to a friend. If it did not feel useful or =
interesting to a real person reading it, it did not go live.

That is the reason BBC, the New York Times, HuffPost, and Time ended up =
linking to us. Nobody on our team pitched them. Their editors found the =
content through search, thought it was worth referencing, and linked on =
their own. DR is 48 now, and organic traffic sits around 20K monthly.
