 I suppose you should close this bug report out.
 Using gcc 3.2.0, the code generated is very different than it was
 for gcc 3.0.4 .
 I'm not sure why we used -O4; apparently this is identical to -O3.
 We've been using -O2 only (for ARM/thumb target);
 perhaps we should try -O3 sometime again but unfortunately
 i don't have time now...
