Did you set CONFIG_SHELL in your environment as recommended by
http://gcc.gnu.org/install/specific.html#*-*-solaris2*.

Please try

   CONFIG_SHELL=/bin/ksh SHELL=bin/ksh /path/to/sources/configure ....
