Fair points. We normally schedule releases every 6 months, but the last
release (8.0) took a little longer than usual to get out, so we need
to decide whether to shift the schedule or not. Looking at the current
NEWS file, and knowing that 8.0.1 is scheduled for early September,
I'd say lets plan for 8.1 branching late Nov, and aim for a release
sometime before Xmas?
