Gramps Development setup question

Just installed a VirtualBox Mint environment on my Windows PC, following
the instructions on
https://www.gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php/Running_a_development_version_of_Gramps

FWIW, I am quite new to this environment.
All looks good, except, when I try to run

*sudo apt-get build-dep gramps*
all it says:

*Reading package lists ... Done*
*E: You must put some 'deb-src' URI in your sources list*

When I try to run:
*python setup.py build *
it complains:
..

*file 'setup.py', line 35 in <module>*

*from distutils import log*
*Importerror cannot import name 'log' from 'distutils'
(usr/lib/python3.8/distutils*

When I try to run Gramps with Python3 Gramps.py
it complains about missing OSMGPSMap
as well as GEvi2

That latter one is very important for my interest in the metadata handling
as is the OSMGPS code as it too  is likely part of the metadata handling.
Any hints, pointer or advice will be very welcome
