Are you using the Quick Report called Timeline? It does most of that 
(age, date, place, type, participants, but no description) for a single 
person, but also includes some life events for parents/siblings/spouses.

Doesn't let you select a group of people. Like all Quick Reports it 
doesn't generate a file but the output is easily copied and pasted into 
a spreadsheet.

If you want to roll your own it would provide a starting point.
