I'm not sure if you could get the edges to look right. Another option would be to use one of the tree reports. The documentation is here: https://mirror.apps.cam.ac.uk/pub/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/genealogytree/genealogytree.pdf You can see that the front cover gives an example that is similar to the required format already.
