Thank you for identifying the cause. I was at the end of my wits and going crazy trying every combination to figure what I did wrong.

I did try the Graphical Reports\Family Tree, and it has the same bug. So does the Graphical Reports\Descendant Tree

I submitted a bug report in the tracker: id 0012763.

Thank you for the information, especially the codes you used in the report.

I can confirm that the place information is being displayed using today's date instead of the date of the event.

To fix, it would require submitting a bug report. The coding is well beyond me. The good news, this is an addon report so as soon as someone can solve this it can be sent out as an update.

Gramps' menu >> Help >> Report a Bug.  You do need to create a login profile to file a report.

In the short term, you may want to explore the Family Tree report. Graphical Reports\Family Tree

There are a lot of configuration options of what to include (or not) but less options on the final output. You may have to test various page size settings.

I'm glad you got the desired display results.

As to the report, I/we need more information.

Could you please be more specific in which report you are using? In the report's setup there is a Help button in the lower left corner which will link to its wiki page.

After I did, I had to go edit a person's birth, and now it works as expected on screen: 13 colonies before, USA after the revolution.

Hi Dan

You actually need to add the USA date information to the Name record.

At the end of the Name field there is an editor icon to set this information. With that set you can remove the alternative name USA.

alternate name 1 USA, language en, after 1776-07-03

In the places hierarchy, this country is the top container for states, then cities.

It does not work. All events are listed with USA even before the revolution.
For ex this death: † 1743-06-11 Mount Holly, NJ, USA

What am I doing wrong?
