Yes, I understand. People who subscribe to mailing lists, and, sit in the background, observing, but, not actively participating, are generally referred to as lurkers, without any aspersion on their nature. I am also a lurker on a number of lists - it is a good way to monitor what is happening, and, to discover new and helpful information, that, sometimes, a person is not aware of the information, to ask about it, or, otherwise, it has not occurred to a person that the information might exist. Sometimes, it can be difficult, to know how many lurkers want to stay, and, to stay as lurkers, and, how many are not really bothered as to whether they stay subscribed, and, some might have done something like subscribed from a new address, without unsubscribing the old address, and, some simply direct all mail from a mailing list, into a dead end folder, without ever seeing the messages. This is not an adverse reflection on lurkers, it is simply an observation of things that may occur on mailing lists. It is unfortunate that sourceforge has deemed fit to eliminate necessary mailing list maintenance functionality from the mailing list, as, being a mailing list administrator or moderator, is a volunteer office, and, can be troublesome enough, without mailing lists hosts making the task more difficult than it needs to be. ..
