Almost exactly what I do, just in Linux :).  I might be a little more
paranoid: I save hourly, do a backup every few days, and a script does
an automatic daily backup to my local server, which then makes a daily
backup off-site.  And about every now and then, I make sure that I can
actually retrieve something from the backups.
