IDs in Graphview - Can't stop them.

Every time I open gramps it comes up in graphview (correct) with the IDs showing next to the names. In the configuration I can turn this off, and it will stay off for any databases that I might visit this session, but it is back next time I start gramps, How can I set it to never be shown? I also have a similar problem with avatars sometimes.
