That would surprise me. I have never tried to determine the number of
readers in any forum before deciding where to post (for example this list).
Rather if I see that previous questions are answered I would think that
future questions also would tend to be answered, but if previous questions
are left ignored I would think that future questions also would tend to be
ignored, and that is totally without any consideration of how many people
are answering and even less how many people are lurking.

Yes, absolutely most mailing lists have decreased traffic over the years
and many have been retired. Maybe this list will dwindle even more, but
we/you don't have to accelerate that even if we expect that to happen (and
I think Bret agrees). If a Gramps user asks other Gramps users on the
gramps-users mailing list something, I would wish that those who prefer
other fora not to immediately write a non-answer about how it's better to
ask somewhere else. Give other users who want to use the mailing list a
chance to answer first. Only if there really *is* no answer for some time,
*then* it might be helpful to give a tip to the one with the question about
other places to ask.
