maintainer(s), within Ubuntu, that are responsible for porting and 
updating applications to the Ubuntu repositories.

Suggestion - post a query to the Ubuntu Users mailing list, asking for 
an update of the status of the GRAMPS application, for the various 
supported versions of Ubuntu Linux.

I am using a derivative of Ubuntu Linux; Linux Mint Mate 21.3, which is 
based on (and thence, uses the repositories for) Ubuntu 22.04, which is 
an LTS version, that is supposed to be supported for at least another 
couple of years. The version of GRAMPS that I have, that is the latest 
version fro the Ubuntu Linux 22.04 repository, is 5.1.5 .

So, you might want to consider my suggestion.
