Our team has found that while both libzip and GDAL support Zstd compression, the support does not extend to loading vrt files within a Zstd-compressed zip. We have a use case where the vsizip file handler is used on a Zstd-compressed zip, such as ogr2ogr outputTest.gpkg /vsizip/{<zip_filename>}/extent.geojson.
