Yes, if I set under windows GMT_SHAREDIR=C:\gmt5\share (my gmt5 
location) API object  is
created.

But it means that all GMT based programs must have GMT share dir, and 
possibly have coatsline
files as well (?)

It also appeared that GMT shell created by the installer does not have 
this variable,
because my example cannot create API object if it is ran under that cmd 
window.
