Is GMT5 capable of doing these ?

Dear All,

I wonder if it is possible to plot a similar plots using GMT 5 or for that matter legacy GMT versions ?

The image "canvas_1.png" shows a transparent 3D world map and the image "canavs_2.png" shows

a 3D plot of earthquakes depending on their magnitude with depth.

PS. Both plots are from http://www.iris.edu 3D viewer services.
