depth value of certain places for ETOPO grd file.

Dear Sir
I would like to obtain the depth value of certain places from ETOPO grd file.
For example, I have the location of 30:00E 55:00N. I would like to extract the depth data of the location from ETOPO grid data.
Could you tell me how to do it?
Probably, I think I can do it with grdtrack or mapproject command, can I?
