grdreformat use

Hi, Can someone please point me to the correct usage of grdreformat with .nc reference Earth model files available at IRIS (http://www.iris.edu/dms/products/emc-referencemodels/). Basically I am trying to output XYZ (long,lat,Vp) grid for each depth layer. I tried a couple of ways to do it but didn't seem to work. I can get ncdump to output data but the mapping between lat, lon, depth and Vp isn't clear. Many thanks !
