Excellent! Thanks for providing the link. I didn't find this page when browsing the website on my own. But I did see help from Jan 31 and was using that as a guide. I didn't get too far... Now I have to update an old cmake (*sigh*) which means putting my behind-the-firewall box back out on the Internet! Always 4 or 5 hurdles to install anything! (Sorry for whining!) I'm assuming your "Plan B" recommendation would be to fetch/untar http://gmt.soest.hawaii.edu/files/download?name=gmt-5.1.0-src.tar.bz2 and run "make; make test; make install"?? Not exactly. Plane AB involves use "cmake", not "make" http://gmtrac.soest.hawaii.edu/projects/gmt/wiki/BuildingGMT#Building-GMT-from-source Mark On 2/4/2014 2:34 PM, Paul Wessel wrote: I dont know if RH is moving that quickly; they seem to prefer buggier older versions, like Ubuntu (there seems to be the policy that version X.Y.Z+n must be buggier than X,Y.Z, but for stable GMT4 that is backwards...). I visited http://gmt.soest.hawaii.edu and followed the instructions to do a "yum install GMT" as root on my RHEL6 box. Yum went out and installed GMT-4.5.9 on my box! I was expecting 5.1.0. What do I need to do to install 5.1.0??
