Sinusoidal projection

Hi all,

  is it possible to create a "sinusoidal-like projection" with GMT?
The sinusoidal projection can be plotted via the Ji or JI option.
But here I can only give the central meridian and the scale or
width along the equator, i.e. the x-axis. What I want to do,
is a kind of stretching of the vertical axis (the latitudinal axis),
too. What I have in mind is a projection like the one which is
given in the attached *.gif file. I would like to do this for comparison
reasons.

Next question: Can I reverse the x direction, i.e. changing from
0-360 to 360-0? With the Jx or JX option this is easily done with
adding a minus sign in front of the x-scale or x-width parameter.
Of course the same can be done be rearanging/converting the
underlying grid file!
