Tried to read beyond grid domain

Here Iam traying to plot the velocity map on dem area, iam gridded the xyz by surface command to .grd file, then command the program by grdimage
and got this error, although iam used the same area and same boundaries 

$ grdimage SS.grd -Cdisp.cpt  -Jm7i -IColli_shad.grd  -K -V -R121.23/122.887/24.169/24.836 -B.7 >>SS.ps
grdimage: Allocates memory and read intensity file
grdimage: Allocates memory and read data file
grdimage (gmt_nc.c:1208(GMT_nc_read_grd)): Tried to read beyond grid domain [SS.grd]

Anybody told me what is going on?
