latitude/height grid

Hi,

I have a data file latitude,height,value which I want to create a  
grid, ie with surface, I use -fi0y,1f -fo0y,1f and surface says:

surface: Output type for X-coordinate of grid ED-060W-20120826T01.nc  
is LAT. Replaced by LON.

OK, I go for grdedit, and it says:

grdedit: Output type for X-coordinate of grid ED-060W-20120826T01.nc  
is LAT. Replaced by LON.

arghhhh!!!

Second problem, grdedit says:

grdedit: Warning: netCDF libraries < 4.3 cannot alter the _FillValue  
attribute in netCDF-4 files.

But gmt (5.1.2_r13078) is linked against netcdf-4.3.0!
