Hi Mikhail and GMT developers,

I see the point. There should be a way in -W to overrule the dashed style of MAP_DEFAULT_PEN

In the man page of "gmt" it properly says about width, color and style:
"If  any  of the  attributes is omitted their default or previous setting will be retained."

So, indeed that's happening to Mikhail, and he has no way to select "solid".

Mikhail, can you please add this as a bug report on the GMT bug tracker: http://gmt.soest.hawaii.edu/projects/gmt/issues

Then we can be sure it is not forgotten ...
