Hi Les,

Sorry you are running into trouble.  Perhaps the 1-minute is a bit =
optimistic, but I had several users on the mainland register in my =
presence last week and things went smoothly, which is how it is supposed =
to work.  Something subtle must have gone wrong in your case.

Some advice:

1. Dont pick a short login id as Bob, Peter, etc since there are already =
many of those and I suspect it is only checking at the end.
2. Make sure the password is long enough
3. Dont use the OpenID URL unless you know exactly what that is.
4. If the Captcha is hard to read, ask for another.
