Hi,

Unfortunately I could not get that to work. Any
other suggestions? Cloud processing perhaps?

What happens?

With 5 sq.m. pixels (that is your region setting?) and a DEM of
100,000 sq.km as you mentioned, then the DEM must contain around
100x10^9 sq.m or around 4x10^9 pixels. (4 billion pixels). That's a
lot... (You probably already did this calculation). So your DEM
raster is probably some 15 GB ? You'll need plenty of RAM.

Shane,

Yes. As long as you have sufficient memory and
drive space. You can always

set the environment variable in ~/.bash_profile:

export=GRASS_VECTOR_LOWMEM=1

which will use available memory and not crash,
while running more slowly.

If I'm wrong I'm sure we'll both read about it.
:-)
