The importance and the timeliness of this issue are directly related to the ever increasing quantity of multi-temporal data provided by the numerous remote-sensing satellites that orbit around our planet.=20 =20 The response to the First International Workshop on the Analysis of Multi-temporal Remote Sensing Images (MultiTemp-2001), held at the University of Trento, Trento, Italy, in September 2001, demonstrated that there is a clear need to advance both theory and applications of multi-temporal remote sensing image analysis.=20 =20 For this reason, the Second International Workshop on the Analysis of Multi-Temporal Remote Sensing Images (MultiTemp-2003) will be organized with the same style: a high quality workshop, focusing on the methodological aspects of multi-temporal remote-sensing image analysis and on their applications.
