Hi,

I've added a GTK+ setting in
https://git.gnome.org/browse/gtk+/commit/?id=c9371f6a185fe1fef1669ffb52a4c4964478042a
that turns on 'caret mode' deskop-wide. This was a longstanding
request from the accessibility team.

To make this really useful, we need an X setting to back this up,
which requires patches to gsettings-desktop-schemas and
gnome-settings-daemon:
