I have about the same use cases and sentiments as Jack :
- Would only use all or just one (usually) at a time.
- Simpler and clearer would be better.  So leaving the automatic 
checking option with each server would be better.

I'm still in the process of (very slowly) converting to Balsa, so if the 
frequency of checking is not yet by server, that would be good to add.

Just a thought : if you want to see features of some other GUI email 
agents, maybe install Mozilla Thunderbird & Seamonkey.  The first has 
what I consider a terrible layout, the second links only to Seamonkey 
navigator (which I no longer use).  They both have very similar 
features, some of which I like, others I would avoid.

BTW, I really like your approach to developing enhancements.
