What started all of this was a sent message I managed to not save a local copy of. Problem with gmail is once you have downloaded a message by pop3, there seems to be no way to reset it to download again. I needed imap access to get at it (in any gmail folder to copy to a local folder. The other thing I sometimes check is the spam folder, since there seems to be no way to download it anyway and make my own spam decision locally. In an attempt to turn down gmail's spam threshold, I need to use their web access to mark as not spam - unless anyone has a better way. I'll play more with both imap and libnetclient turned on, but I still wonder if there could/should be more specific imap debug output.
