Balsa 2.5.6-1: Cannot initialize GSS security contexC

Dear list members,

I bought a new notebook and installed Debian Stretch on it. To have the  
latest stable version of Balsa I installed it from Debian Buster (Balsa  
2.5.6-1). I also copied the balsa configuration files etc. as well as  
the maildir directory from the running old netbook to my new notebook.  
It seems that everything is working well with the exception of sending  
mails via the IMAP account (the only one I have) of an Microsoft ESMTP  
MAIL Service. I always get the failure message 'Connecting SMTP server  
[email protected] ([email protected]) failed: cannot initialize GSS security context: An  
invalid status code was supplied'.

Can somebody provide support? Any ideas?
