Hmm. I decided to recompile from scratch. Just doing "ninja uninstall"
did seem to leave lots of remnants around. Unfortunately, however, I now
can't recompile, because as of enchant 2.2, they changed the package name
from enchant to enchant-2. I didn't pay attention to exactly where it
failed - so I'll try from scratch, in case the "ninja reconfigure" wasn't
sufficient. (I recently upgraded from enchant 2.1.x to 2.2.x and a bunch
of other packages got caught on that change also.)
