Actually the fix was kind of silly.  If I would have just recompiled gkrellmd
after making the patch it would have worked right away. ;) (Doh!)
When I did it immidiately worked in client/server mode as well.

So basically no additional changes.

Hajimu, can you please take a look at the patch I sent a couple of emails
earlier in this thread and see if you like what you're seeing?
I'd be happy to resend it if you'd like that.
(I'm assuming you're still subscribed to this list, can the listowner
perhaps shed some light on that? :)

I asked John Baldwin from FreeBSD whether he had any idea when his patch for
per-CPU stats under FreeBSD would hit CURRENT and STABLE.  Here is his

Well, the goal of the patch was to provide a small performance optimization
by holding sched_lock for a shorter period of time.  Curiously, it actually
resulted in a performance decrease on i386 and amd64 in benchmarks.  On a 10
cpu sparc64 machine it did result in an improvement.  I need to do more
research to determine why it would hurt performance for the x86 case (even
on 4 cpu boxes) as I don't want to go committing things that hurt
performance.  If I can address the performance problems though this is the
interface that would be presented to userland.

Other question: Are there any other things missing in gkrellm under FreeBSD
that are available under other OS's and which people would like to see
added under FreeBSD?  I'd be willing to give it a shot.
