gkrellm - mail internal reader

Hello all. I'm trying to get gkrellm to check my POP3 mail. I enter my server name : in.servername.net Username: my username Password: my password gkrellm then returns: [email protected] Bad response after password. I'm not sure if gkrellm is sending [email protected] as the login. To my knowledge my login require only my username. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
