I find this very interesting. I think it could solve my sole gkrellm
annoyance: the mail-checking feature.
I use a remote IMAPS account; gkrellm checks for new mail every minute. Even
though in less than a minute I can delete the new mail, the mail panel still
shows new mail for a couple of seconds (until the next refresh, that is). I
know I can click on the gkrellm mail envelope to force a refresh, but being
able to tell gkrellm to refresh via a simple script (after closing mutt) would
enhance my life.
Maybe a D-BUS based interface is cleaner than pipes? I just bring this up, I
really don't know how much work would be involved.
