gkrellm doesn't show up on Xfce any more

I've had some problems with the X-server recently (actually it was a
misconfiguration in the Xservers file), and as one result of that
gkrellm stops to show up, although it's running. It shows up in the
processes list, I can kill it, but I simply can't see it. Even now that
the rest is working fine again gkrellm doesn't.
gkrellm version is 2.2.10, Xfce is 4.2; Xorg is 7.1.

Maybe you can help me with this problem. Please tell me what additional
info you need.
