Greetings all;

Has anyone made apcupsd work correctly with a Belkin ups, and can that be fed 
into gkrellm?

Giving up on the belkin proprietary daemon till they fix it, I installed 
acpupsd, and hooked the ups up so it would be an hid device, which was 
detected and /dev/hiddev1 was created when I plugged in the cable.

Without changing anything in the /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf file, I started the 
daemon which reported no errors, found the ups on /dev/hiddev1, and a status 
query shows this:

Some of the figures don't look right, as if the translations aren't quite 
right, like the TIMELEFT above but then this isn't an APC unit either.  
However, hid stuff leaves less room for fudging protocols for vendor lockin, 
so I half expected it would work.  And I haven't tried it with an FTDI 
adaptor, which can generate a considerably more verbose and detailed report, 
but protocol diffs would probably render that unusable.

Can I improve on these reports, and can I display the important stuff in 
gkrellm somehow?
