Yes, stopping and restarting the client resets the values from zero. And for a while, the figures make sense... i.e., the http numbers rise and fall in expected numbers. But then the quit falling, and each new connection increments 1, and eventually the numbers are sky high. Unfortunately I don't have a gui enabled linux box available, and grep isn't on my Windows box, so I can't run the client as you suggest.
