Hi Bill,
So a few other programs (e.g. hald) read the offending file. So rather
than hack Gkrellm to work around this, I choose not to compile ac
adapter support in my kernel (actually I compiled it as a module, and
leave it unloaded).
Just FYI -- When I disable ac_adapter support in the kernel, Gkrellm
correctly detects if I'm plugged in or not, while the battery is
charging. But when the battery is fully charged, Gkrellm thinks it's not
connected.
Possibly because it tests for the line
charging state: charging
in /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state, but does not test for the line
charging state: charged
