Does anyone know why there are 2 temperature readings for each CPU core?

Do you know what the THRM ("thermal_zone") is?

I am using lm-sensors and I get:

Core0 Temp:
             +22 C
Core0 Temp:
             +25 C
Core1 Temp:
             +28 C
Core1 Temp:
             +26 C

I've tried with and without SMARTFAN enabled in the BIOS with the same results.
