ouch, that pretty much explains the huge gap. But don't give up hope, 
there seems to be an archive at gmane.org so others still might be able 
to search for older postings:

I don't really know how gmane managed to find out about the mailinglist 
transition some time ago but at least I was able to find me old 
beta-announcement over there:
