This means a plugin needs to written to have a gkrellmd server module and a corresponding local gkrellm module that will check for the presence of its remote running plugin counterpart. Unfortunately, there just aren't many plugins written this way, but off the top of my head, I can list at least gkrellmwho2 and gkrelltop that are.
