If remote data cannot be read, gkrelltop will show local processes.

The README file included with gkrelltop offers a troubleshooting method
to ensure the plugin's loaded and that the daemon actually sends the
data on the wire.  I suggest you check there and report back results if
you're still stuck.

Shot in the dark: on CentOS=C2=A06, the gkrellm-top package installs the
plugin in /usr/lib64/gkrellm2/plugins but gkrellmd looks for plugins in
/usr/lib64/gkrellm2/plugins-gkrellmd - a symlink suffices to fix it so
that gkrellmd finds the plugin.
